Ordering a ring online is one of the most common jewellery purchases in Thailand — and getting the size right before it arrives saves time, stress, and resizing fees. This guide walks you through three reliable methods and gives you a complete size reference chart.
Why Ring Size Matters More Than You Think
A ring that is too small is uncomfortable and can restrict circulation. One that is too large spins and risks slipping off. Most fine jewellery — especially rings set with stones — can be resized up to two sizes in either direction, but prevention is always better than alteration. Some settings (full eternity bands, tension settings) cannot be resized at all.
Method 1: Measure a Ring You Already Own (Most Accurate)
If you own a ring that fits well on the same finger, this is the fastest method:
- Place the ring flat on a ruler and measure the inner diameter in millimetres
- Use the chart below to find your size
Make sure you measure the inside of the band — not the outside.
Method 2: Measure Your Finger with Paper or String
- Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of string roughly 10 cm long
- Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you plan to wear the ring on
- Mark where the paper or string overlaps
- Lay it flat against a ruler and measure the length in millimetres — this is your circumference
- Use the chart below to find your size
Tip: Measure in the afternoon or evening — fingers swell slightly during the day and in warm weather (Thailand's climate means fingers can run up to half a size larger in the peak of summer).
Method 3: Use Our In-Store Size Guide Page
You can also visit our Ring Size Guide page for a printable sizer. Print at 100% scale (no "fit to page"), cut out the guide, and slide it onto your finger.

Tips for Getting the Right Fit
- Temperature matters: Fingers are slightly larger in the heat. Measure in warm conditions or go half a size up if you run warm.
- Dominant hand is usually larger: Your writing hand's ring finger may be up to half a size bigger.
- Knuckle size: If your knuckle is significantly wider than the base of your finger, size to the knuckle and choose a wider band that won't spin.
- Wide bands fit tighter: Bands 6mm+ wide sit higher on the finger and can feel one size smaller. Go half a size up for wider styles.
- When in doubt, go larger: It is easier and cheaper to size down than to size up a stone-set ring.
Buying a Surprise Ring? Here's How to Guess
If you are buying a ring as a gift and cannot ask directly:
- Borrow a ring they already wear on that finger and trace the inside onto paper
- Compare their hand size to yours if you know your own size
- Thai women average size 6–7 (US); most adjustable styles cover a range
- When in doubt, choose a slightly larger size and include a note — resizing is available
